Applications
Electronics and Semiconductor Manufacturing
For protection of moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs), printed circuit boards, and electronic assemblies from humidity-driven failures. Designed to store moisture-sensitive devices (MSDs), populated circuit boards, ICs, sensors, and other electronic components that must be kept below a controlled humidity threshold to avoid corrosion, oxidation, or popcorn cracking during reflow. The nitrogen purge capability helps quickly pull humidity down after door openings, while the LED controller and alarms let staff verify that storage conditions stay in the specified range.
- Short-term staging of MSDs between baking and reflow,
- Protecting high-value spare PCBs, test fixtures, and interface boards from long-term moisture exposure, or during process holds or weekends,
- Storage of prototypes, small production lots, and engineering samples, sensors, and modules awaiting build or test.
Optics, Imaging, and Photonics
Optical assemblies, cameras, and lenses are susceptible to fungus growth and coating degradation if stored in damp conditions. The DYCDG-100 provides a clean, low-humidity environment with clear visibility into the cabinet so users can check inventory without unnecessarily opening the door.
- Storage of DSLR and mirrorless camera bodies and lenses when not in use,
- Protection of microscope objectives, eyepieces, and optical filters,
- Dry storage of photonics components and small optical assemblies
Analytical, R&D, and QA/QC Laboratories
Many reference materials, reagents, and standards absorb moisture over time, shifting their calibration values or degrade performance, shortening their usable life. The DYCDG-100 gives laboratories a controlled, low-humidity space for storage of reference items between calibrations, improving stability and extending their useful life.
- Storage of calibration artifacts, reference filters, and optical standards,
- Dry storage of hygroscopic powders, membranes, and films in sealed containers,
- Protection of precision gauges, measuring tools, small electrochemical or sensor assemblies, and small jigs from corrosion.
Industrial Metrology, Precision Tools, and
Precision metal gauges, dies, and metrology tools can rust or corrode when exposed to ambient humidity, particularly in coastal or high-humidity regions where corrosion and surface changes can quickly ruin precision instruments. The DYCDG-100 provides a compact, controlled-humidity environment that reduces corrosion risk while keeping tools visible and easily accessible for production and QA personnel. A controlled dry cabinet reduces rust risk and helps maintain dimensional stability for critical measurement devices and reference gauges.
- Ideal for storage of gauge blocks, micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators,
- Protection of small dies, molds, and specialty tooling during downtime,
- Dry storage of optical and electronic inspection instruments between shifts.

Documentation
FAQs
Q1. How long does it take for the cabinet to reach the target humidity?
A1. When first powered on with an empty interior, the cabinet generally needs several hours of operation to pull humidity down to the setpoint. When fully loaded with items that contain moisture (such as paper, cloth, or foam cases), it may take one or more days to stabilize at the desired humidity. Using a nitrogen purge can shorten the recovery time after initial loading or frequent door openings.
Q2. Can the DYCDG-100 operate without a nitrogen supply?
A2. Yes, while the cabinet is designed with an integrated dehumidification unit and a nitrogen flow meter, it can maintain controlled low humidity 20-60% through its internal dehumidification system. The nitrogen connection allows users to add a dry nitrogen purge when needed for faster pull-down or inert storage.
Q3. What kind of maintenance does the cabinet require?
A3. Routine maintenance is minimal. In normal use, the internal drying medium does not require regular replacement. Users should keep the exhaust vent at the rear of the cabinet unobstructed, periodically verify humidity readings against a reference hygrometer if needed, and inspect door seals and hinges so the cabinet closes smoothly and tightly.
Q4. Does the cabinet generate heat or vibration that could affect sensitive items?
A4. The dehumidification module is solid-state and operates with very low vibration and no internal fan in the storage space. Some warmth around the dehumidification unit and exhaust vent is normal during operation, but the internal environment remains at ambient room temperature and is suitable for sensitive optics and electronics.
Q5. How do we locate, install and use for best performance?
A5. Place the DYCDG-100 on a level, stable surface with at least a few inches of clearance (20cm) behind the cabinet for ventilation. Avoid locations with direct airflow from air conditioners or exhaust fans, direct sunlight, or high levels of steam or smoke, as these can affect humidity control and long-term reliability. Keep the door closed as much as practical, organize shelves so frequently accessed items are easy to reach, and use nitrogen purge when rapid recovery is important for your process.
Q6. What happens to the humidity setting if power is interrupted?
A6. The controller retains the last humidity setpoint in memory. After power is restored, the cabinet resumes operation with the stored setpoint. Depending on the length of the power outage and ambient conditions, humidity inside the cabinet may rise during the interruption. Allow time for the system to restore humidity to setpoint before resuming critical storage as it may take some time for humidity to return to the desired level.
