Product Description

Brandtech Dispensette S Trace Analysis bottletop dispenser have an analog adjustable dispense volume range of 1 to 10 mL and incorporate components in the fluid path which contain only the highest purity materials, such as fluoroplastics, sapphire, and either platinum-iridium (Pt-Ir) or tantalum (Ta) valve springs.  These dispensers release virtually no metal ions after appropriate cleaning, making them ideal for trace analysis.

Dispensette S Product Line

Applications

  • Precise volume dispensing of high-purity media for trace analysis,

  • Dispensing high-purity chemicals,

  • Improve speed and accuracy for routine chemical handling,

  • Eliminates hazardous manual tasks like pouring, dispensing and transferring dangerous chemicals,

  • Improves safety in working with highly aggressive chemicals, fuming acids and highly alkaline solutions,

  • Reduced waste of solutions which tend to crystallize in storage bottles,

  • Filling reagent tubes or small glass vessels for microbiology,

  • Maintains sterility of liquids, especially in microbiology or cell culture applications in a bio-safety cabinet, which can require a quick withdraw, dispense and reseal of the medium bottle after each use,

  • Reduce danger of spillage within biosafety or chemical safety cabinets.

Features

  • All plastics in fluid path contact with media are high-purity fluoroplastics such as PTFE, ETFE, PCTFE, FEP and PFA.

  • High purity sapphire is used for replaceable valves,

  • Either platinum-iridium (Pt-Ir) or tantalum (Ta) valve springs can be selected , depending upon the application,

  • Platinum-Iridium (Pt-Ir) valve spring models are suitable for dispensing HF,

  • Tantalum (Ta) valve spring models are designed for dispensing acids, bases and hydrogen peroxide,

  • Trace metal content of dispensed liquid is generally in the low ppb range or, depending on application, even in the low ppt range,

  • Field-tested cleaning process before use in trace analysis is described in the operating manual,

  • Analog volume selection with internal scalloped track for secure, reproducible volume setting and rapid slide adjustments,

  • Calibration adjustments are simple with included tool,

  • The "floating piston" design of the Dispensette® S forms a zero-wear sealing system by using a thin film of the dispensed liquid, a few µm thick, to act as a non-wearing seal while reducing friction. This provides a smooth, easy and convenient cartridge slide which resists wear and damage, simplifies cleaning and maintenance, and provides a lifetime of reliable dispensing.

  • Smooth dispense action makes one-handed operation safe and simple, even with a nearly-empty reagent bottle.

  • Easy to calibrate and adjust in order to comply with ISO 9001 and GLP guidelines,

  • Simple to mount discharge tube available with or without integrated recirculation valve,

  • Replaceable discharge valve with safety valve,

  • Olive-shaped filling valve for firmer attachment of filling tubes,

  • The valve design eliminates seals and is replaceable for simple, economical service and trouble-free operation

  • A telescoping filling tube adjusts to different bottle sizes, with no measuring or cutting required

  • Valve block rotates 360° so that the bottle label always faces the user for safety,

  • Improved flow technology results in faster priming,

  • The instrument is easy to disassemble for cleaning or full replacement of the dispensing cartridge,

  • Bottletop dispensers increase laboratory safety by mounting reagent bottles to minimize manually poured reagent transfers and reduce the risk of injury from inadvertent dispensing and splashes.

  • An extensive line of accessories facilitates specialized dispensing tasks like sterile applications or dispensing from large containers.

Specifications

  • Use between +15° C and +40° C (instrument and reagent)

  • Vapor pressure up to max. 600 mbar (Aspirate slowly above 300 mbar, in order to prevent the liquid from boiling)

  • Max. kinematic viscosity:  500 mm2/s

  • Max. dynamic viscosity [mPas] =kinematic viscosity [mm2/s] x density [g/cm3])

* Hydrofluoric acid reacts slightly with sapphire resulting in mildly elevated aluminum values. To reduce these values we recommend discarding 3-5 dispensings of 2 mL each before performing the analysis.

  • Calibration mechanism includes a visible flag to automatically indicate when calibration has been adjusted from factory specifications.  Easy to calibrate and adjust in order to comply with ISO 9001 and GLP guidelines.

  • ETFE, PTFE dispenser valve and cap,

  • Dispensette® S Trace Analysis includes:

    • Certificate of performance

    • Discharge tube

    • Valve mounting/calibration tool

    • Operating manual

    • One-year warranty

    • Adapters and filling tube

      • Filling tube length, mm:  125-240,

      • Adapters:  Standard GL45mm thread, plus included adapters, for bottle thread (mm) 28, 33, 38, S40* to fit most common lab bottles,

  • Operating exclusions:

    • Liquids which attack Al2O3 sapphire or fluoroplastics (ETFE, FEP, PFA, PCTFE, PTFA and PTFE)

    • Dissolved sodium azide permitted up to a concentration of maximum of 0.1%,

    • Liquids which are decomposed catalytically by platinum-iridium (e.g., H2O2) or tantalum, depending on the selected valve spring material,

    • Organic solvents,

    • Trifluoroacetic acid

    • Explosive liquids (e.g., carbon disulfide)

    • Suspensions (e.g., of charcoal) as solid particles may clog or damage the instrument,

    • Liquids which form deposits may make the piston difficult to move or may cause jamming (e.g., crystallizing solutions or concentrated alkaline solutions),

    • When dispensing inflammable media, make sure to avoid the buildup of static charge, (e.g., do not dispense into plastic vessels; do not wipe instruments with a dry cloth).

    • Must not be autoclaved (unlike the Dispensette S and Dispensette S Organic.)

  • Designed for general laboratory applications and complies with the relevant standards, e.g. DIN EN ISO 8655. Compatibility of the instrument for a specific application (e.g. trace material analysis, food sector, etc.) must be checked by the user. Approvals for specific applications, (e.g. for production and administration of food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics) are not available.
