Product Description
Insulon Vacuum Jacketed High Pressure Standard Hoses
are compact, flexible, high-performance insulated hoses for cryogenic, cold, and high-temperature fluid transfer. Engineered with proprietary Insulon vacuum technology, this high pressure hose helps reduce heat gain, heat loss, condensation, boil-off, and unsafe external surface temperatures in demanding laboratory, research, industrial, and process environments. Unlike traditional vacuum jacketed hose designs that may require pump-down maintenance, Insulon hose uses a hyper-deep vacuum space designed for long-term thermal insulation performance without routine pump-down service. The Standard version is the best choice when the application requires high pressure capability, excellent thermal performance, a smaller outside diameter, lighter handling, and easier routing than larger MLI vacuum jacketed hose assemblies. For maximum thermal insulation performance, see the Insulon High Pressure Hose with MLI version.

FAQs
What is the difference between Insulon High Pressure Standard Hose and Insulon High Pressure Hose with MLI?
The Standard version uses Insulon vacuum insulation in a compact, lighter, more flexible form factor. The MLI version adds proprietary high-density multi-layer insulation inside the vacuum space for maximum thermal insulation performance, but it also increases the outside diameter and bend radius. Choose Standard when handling, routing space, and compact geometry are priorities. Choose MLI when maximum thermal performance is the overriding requirement.
What pressure can the High Pressure Standard hose handle?
At cryogenic, cold, and room temperature service through 100°F (38°C), HP Standard hose is rated up to 750 psi for 1/4 in, 3/8 in, and 1/2 in ID sizes, 600 psi for 3/4 in ID, and 500 psi for 1 in ID. For fluid temperatures above 100°F (38°C), MAWP decreases and must be checked against the high pressure derating table.
Can this hose be used for liquid nitrogen transfer?
Yes. Insulon vacuum jacketed hose is designed for cryogenic fluid transfer, including liquid nitrogen applications, when the selected hose ID, pressure rating, end fittings, cleanliness level, and system conditions are appropriate. For continuous cryogenic service, extremely low-temperature cryogens, or maximum boil-off reduction, compare the Standard version with the MLI version before ordering.
Can this hose be used for high-temperature fluids, hot air, or steam?
Yes. Insulon High Pressure Standard Hose is rated for operation up to 1,500°F (815°C), but pressure capability decreases as maximum fluid temperature increases. For hot air, steam, exhaust gas, and process heating oil applications, verify MAWP at the maximum fluid temperature and confirm fitting compatibility before ordering.
Does Insulon hose require pump-down maintenance?
No. Insulon vacuum jacketed hose is engineered with a hyper-deep vacuum space that does not require routine pump-down maintenance. This is a key advantage for facilities that want to reduce downtime, avoid scheduled pump-down service, and maintain consistent thermal insulation performance.
How do I choose the correct hose size, length, and fittings?
Select the hose ID based on flow requirement, pressure, allowable pressure drop, bend radius, and available routing space. Choose length based on actual installed path, allowing for bend radius and connection geometry. End fittings should match the system connection at each end. For high-temperature service, oxygen service, hydrogen service, corrosive media, or unusual fittings, contact LabgearUSA before ordering.
Is standard Insulon hose suitable for cryo-compressed hydrogen?
Standard Insulon hose variants are not appropriate for cryo-compressed hydrogen when system pressure exceeds the MAWP of the selected standard hose size and temperature condition. Cryo-compressed hydrogen or any pressure above the published MAWP requires custom engineering review before ordering.
