MRC Impeller No. 18

is a U-shaped anchor stirrer that produces tangential flow for blending viscous liquids, distributing high-solids ingredients, supporting heat transfer, and performing other medium-to-high-viscosity mixing applications. It is available in 70, 80, and 110 mm (2.76, 3.15, and 4.33 in.) diameters.

Viscous Liquid Blending

The broad U-shaped frame carries a large section of the batch around the vessel, supporting the mixing of resins, polymer solutions, adhesives, syrups, creams, gels, coatings, and other materials that do not circulate efficiently with small propeller-style impellers.

High-Solids Formulations

The large blade area can help distribute mineral fillers, pigments, powders, thickeners, suspended additives, and other formulation ingredients through medium- and high-viscosity products.

Heat Transfer and Temperature Control

By moving material through the outer and lower regions of the vessel, the anchor geometry can improve contact with heated or cooled vessel walls, jackets, bottom surfaces, coils, and temperature probes.

Polymer and Reaction Work

Suitable for laboratory and process-development reactions in which viscosity is moderate, high, or expected to increase during processing.

Gentle Bulk Mixing

Low-speed tangential movement provides broad batch displacement without relying on the concentrated turbulence produced by high-shear turbines or dissolver blades.
